Money was made available from contingency funds, Treasury reveals
A Tynwald written question has revealed the true cost of the clean-up following Storms Darragh and Éowyn.
It's as work to tackle damage caused at the Island's plantations is still ongoing.
Glenfaba and Peel MHK Kate Lord-Brennan asked the treasury minister what departmental bids or business cases have been approved or supported this year with contingency funding.
In response, Alex Allinson confirmed that to date, the only bid or business case that has been approved or supported this financial year has come from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
He confirmed a total of £1,054,200 was made available from the Contingency Fund for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 financial years to mitigate damage caused by Storms Darragh and Eowyn.
