Local authority response to hosepipe ban
Plants in the Island's capital will be watered less regularly, in response to the current hosepipe ban.
Douglas Borough Council says, although the restriction does not extend to local authorities or commercial organisations, it recognises the importance of saving water at this time.
Non-drinking water will be used to maintain the 500 floral displays around the town.
The golf course is already irrigated with water which is not from the mains supply, so is unaffected.
