Council decides not to buy iconic building
Douglas Council has turned down the chance to buy the Swing-Bridge Tower on South Quay.
The Department of Infrastructure approached the local authority to take over the iconic building for a nominal cost.
Members voted against the move amid fears it would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds to regenerate.
But Council Leader David Christian says the decision wasn't made simply because it would operate at a loss:
