Douglas council says it’s planning to turn some of its three-bedroom homes in Pulrose into two-bedroom houses.
Chairman of the Housing and Property Advisory Committee Carol Malarkey says downstairs bathrooms next to kitchens will be moved upstairs in a total of 76 houses to improve living conditions.
There’s no price tag yet for the work, which will be put out to tender, but the council will put a business case to Treasury for the changes with a view to carrying out the work next year.
Mrs Malarkey says the moves will benefit tenants and the local authority’s housing list.
