Courthouse public meeting tonight

Malarkey 'has nothing to add' on matter

A public meeting in Ramsey tonight will allow residents a chance to debate the future of the town's Courthouse.

It's being hosted by the Commissioners, who this week agreed to make an offer on the building to central government.

Local MHKs and the general public have been invited to attend this evening.

But Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey, who announced the building had been put on open sale last week, claims he has 'nothing to add' on the matter - and insists any questions will be answered in Tynwald next week.

Ramsey resident and local historian Jacqui Kneen says keeping the Courthouse in public ownership is the only way to secure its future:

The meeting is taking place tonight at 7pm, in the Ramsey Grammar School West Building.
