Covid-19 rule change won't be brought forward says CM

Government allowing additional time to vaccinate children

Covid-19 measures on the Island will remain in place until March, as planned, so that vulnerable children can be vaccinated.

The Manx Government has confirmed it won't be bringing forward the end of Coronavirus rules here any sooner than expected.

That's despite changes to the rules in England with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announcing that the self-isolation requirement, for people with the virus, would be lifted on Thursday.

The Council of Ministers says it's aware of the changes happening, or being considered, in both England and the Channel Islands and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

However, it says it still intends to remove all restrictions here on 31 March to allow additional time for 'vulnerable cohorts' to get 'much needed protection' from the vaccine.
