Third stage of Tour de France won by Biniam Girmay from Eritrea
A crash at the end of the third stage of the Tour de France has dampened Sir Mark Cavendish's hopes of making history today (1 July).
The 'Manx Missile' couldn't take a record-breaking 35th stage win although there are still hopes for him later this week.
The winner was Biniam Girmay from Eritrea - the first person from Africa ever to win a stage.
Speaking to ITV after the race Cav said he was thrilled for him:
Stage four of the race tomorrow (2 July) will head into The Alps and will take in Col du Galibier on the almost 140km route from Pinerolo to Valloire.
