Fire crews have been dealing with what's understood to be a gas fire in Ramsey on Wednesday afternoon.
Teams from Ramsey and Laxey fire stations were called in to extinguish the blaze.
The incident is believed to have involved a gas main in a terraced property next to Parliament Square.
Routes surrounding the area were affected; the road between the traffic lights at Parliament Square and the roundabout near Shoprite in the town had to be closed for a period.
Nearby properties were evacuated as crews isolated the gas main.
