More than £3,000 already donated
A crowdfunding page will fund equipment for a Port St Mary man who was paralysed after the onset of Guillain-Barré (PRON: ghee-lan bar-ray) syndrome.
37-year-old Alex Keenan was struck down with the autoimmune disorder nine weeks ago, which affects around 1,200 people in the UK.
Guillain-Barré is brought on by the body's immune system attacking part of the peripheral nervous system.
Alex was transferred from Noble's Hospital to the Walton Centre Intensive Care Unit in Liverpool - there's no indication as to when he'll be released.
One-hundred-and-thirteen people have already donated £3,500 to the cause.
