Culture Vannin seeks RBV nominations

Closing date is 26th November

Throughout this month, Culture Vannin is seeking nominations for the organisation's premium annual accolade, which opened on the first.

The Reih Bleeaney Vanannan or RBV award is given to an individual or group that has made an outstanding contribution to the Island's culture.

Nominations are considered by a panel of representatives from various Manx cultural organisations, with the winner announced at the beginning of next year.

Last year's award went to Manx language teacher and author Phil Kelly, to recognise a lifetime of work in education, publishing, and especially for his input to an online Manx gaelic dictionary.

The winner receives a personal donation of £500 and is asked to nominate a Manx cultural cause which receives an additional £500.

Recipients are also entitled to use the letters RBV after their name.

Do you know someone who could be a contender?

See Culture Vannin's website for more details, e-mail enquiries@culturevannin.im or phone 676169.

The closing date for nominations is Mon 26 November.
