Cyber Security Centre monitoring threats amid warning of Russian cyber attacks

Russia reportedly ready to carry out cyber attacks on the UK and other allies in a bid to weaken support for Ukraine

The Isle of Man Cyber Security Centre (CSC) has acknowledged warnings from the UK Government about the risk of Russian cyber-attacks on the UK and its allies, as highlighted at the NATO Cyber Defence Conference.

The CSC has reassured residents that it remains in close contact with the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and other partner agencies to monitor and respond to emerging threats.

Regular updates and guidance are provided to the island’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) members, alongside ongoing engagement with the private sector and public to bolster resilience.

A spokesperson for the CSC said: “While the risks associated with cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure are not new, they highlight the importance of vigilance and robust defences to protect essential services and the wider community.”

To strengthen protections, the Isle of Man Government is preparing a National Infrastructure Security Bill.

The proposed legislation will require critical infrastructure providers to meet minimum levels of cyber assurance.
