Cyclefest enters final day

More road closures

Cyclefest enters its second and final day this morning, with hundreds of competitors taking part in three headline fondo events.

The 82-mile Gran Fondo race departs at 10am, simultaneously with the shorter Medio Fondo (39 miles) and followed by the beginners' Piccolo Fondo class (22 miles) at 10.15am.

Rolling road closures will be in place throughout the day.

Vehicles will not be permitted on the roads during the times specified, but spectators are welcome on foot.

9.30am-11am Mooragh Promenade from the Vollan and as far as Bride Village

9.30am-11.30am Bride Hill along the West Kimmeragh Road as far as the junction with Thurrot Cottage Road; Thurrot Cottage Road to the junction with the Bride Coast Road; Bride Coast Road from the junction with Thurrot Cottage Road to the Polly Road; The Polly Road and Summerhill Road; Sandy Gate Road from the junction with Summerhill Road and Ballamona Straight to The Cronk.

10am-11.30am Ballacrye Road

10.30am-12.30am Glen Road from Ballaugh in the direction of Beinney Phott Road
Druidale Road; Sartfell Road between Druidale and Little London; Little London



11am-1pm Ballabooie Road from Cronk y Voddy to Staarvey junction; Staarvey Road from Ballabooie Road to the Switchback; The Switchback from Staarvey to Poortown Road

11am-1pm (ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ONLY) Poortown Road from the Switchback to Ballig Bridge

11am-2pm Station Road, St John’s; Patrick Road


11am-1pm Glen Maye Road from Patrick Road through to the Roundtable Crossroads

11.30am-1.30pm Ronague Road from the Roundtable Cross Roads to the junction with the Corlea Road; Corlea Road

11am-2.30pm Glen Rushen Mines Road; Mines road to Gleneedles; Gleneedles to Patrick Road St Johns; Patrick Road St John’s from junction with Gleneedles to junction with Station Road; Foxdale Road St John’s

11am-3pm Tholt y Will Road and Sulby Glen Road as far as Claddaghs junction

12pm-2.30pm Ballavargher Road from the entrance to Slieu Whallian Park to Archallagan Road; Archallagan Road to junction with Foxdale Road; Garth Road and Old Church Road
