A huge fundraising effort – and the generosity of corporate donors – means it’ll be business as usual for the Island's confidential drug counselling service DASH.
Earlier this year the Drugs Advice Service and Helpline lost £100,000 of government funding and the Department of Health said it would partner with the Alcohol Advisory Service to provide addiction services.
DASH Director Shelly Stanley says despite the blow, the organisation will continue offering advice and support to drug users and their families.
She says DASH achieves great things on the Island:
Heysham sailings cancelled due to adverse weather forecast
Immigration expert claims government didn't factor in impact of migrants' families
Motorists advised to move cars from Bottleneck
Drugs activity on the Island leading to kidnappings, says chief constable
