
A long-standing member of the House of Keys is to stand for the Legislative Council.
South Douglas MHK David Cretney, who was first elected in 1985, has confirmed he will contest one of the four seats which will be vacant in the upper house from 1 March.
Mr Cretney last year bowed out after 18 years as a government minister.
MLCs Alan Crowe, Alex Downie, Dudley Butt and Phil Braidwood are due to retire by rotation next month – although it’s not yet known how many will seek re-election.
