David Quirk elected as new Onchan Commissioner

Former MHK to serve six-month term after securing majority

Former MHK David Quirk has been voted in as the newest member of Onchan District Commissioners.

He replaces James Cherry, who resigned in October last year, and will serve a six-month term until May 2021.

Turnout for the by-election was 25 per cent with Mr Quirk securing a majority of 59 votes ahead of Kim Corlett.

Kim Corlett (Independent) - 842 votes

David Quirk (Independent) - 901 votes

After his victory was confirmed, Mr Quirk outlined his priorities:
