Any email addresses not reactivated will be deleted on 21 April
Manx.net email users have until next week to register with the new provider or risk having their accounts deleted.
It follows an announcement from Manx Telecom in October that the service would be moving to Junara.
Those wishing to keep their account will need to pay £65 per year.
Kevin Luff, a digital inclusion officer at the charity Live at Home, has helped around 30 elderly residents with the transition, and says the majority of them are unhappy with the change:
Previously, the Office of Cyber Security has warned people undergoing the transition to remain vigilant.
Director Mike Haywood has advised people to type www.manx.net directly into their browser and not to click on any links.
It follows reports from Island residents who have received emails containing clickable links claiming their accounts will be closed within days.
These so-called phishing emails, pretending to be from Manx.net or Junara, are misleading and can result in attackers gaining access to people’s email accounts and other sensitive information.
So, if you're a Manx.net user and you haven’t yet decided whether to sign up for the paid service, you have until 20 February to do so.
After that, any accounts that have not been reactivated will be deleted on 21 April.
