Debris thought to be from plane

Experts believe debris from missing plane

Fuel and debris found floating in the Irish Sea is believed to be from the light aircraft that went missing travelling from the Isle of Man to Blackpool yesterday (Thursday).

The wreckage has been sent for forensic analysis.

Air crash investigators fear the single engine Rockwell Commander plane crashed into the Irish Sea in poor weather conditions yesterday morning (Thursday).

It disappeared from radar screens three miles off-shore shortly after 9am.

The pilot, a businessman thought to split his time between the Isle of Man and Scotland, is still missing.

The search has now officially ended and the Coastguard has handed over to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and Lancashire Police.
