Resignation follows public scrutiny
Don’t be afraid of failure.
Those words from the outgoing head of a government department.
Chris Corlett will stand down as chief executive of the Department of Economic Development in a fortnight’s time.
His resignation comes at a time his department is under scrutiny on a wide range of issues - although Mr Corlett says they are unconnected with his departure, and he wants to spend time on other projects after 14 years with government.
He admits he’s had both highs and disappointments during his three year tenure at the DED:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
DfE provided more than £250,000 to MT to assist with below ground fibre installations
Man given suspended sentence after importing 2kg of cannabis to Island
