Deemster Turner 'deplores' by-election trial sentencing delay

The judge who presided over the election fraud trial says he 'deplores' the fact sentencing has been delayed.

Deemster David Turner was speaking at a directions hearing at Douglas Courthouse this morning.

Three people convicted of election fraud had been due to be sentenced today.

But one of them, Charles Lewin from Crosby, disputes elements of the case against him.

If the prosecution and Lewin’s legal team cannot reach agreement, a Newton Hearing may be held to resolve matters.
