Delays at Ronaldsway

New X ray machines installed

Air passengers are being warned of likely delays in security at Ronaldsway during the coming days.

New X-Ray machines are being installed in the security area, which are designed to help improve the flow of passengers.

The installation is set to take around 7 days.

A temporary X-ray line will be in operation at the airport during the installation process.

Passengers are being warned of possible delays and to allow plenty of time before their flights.

Once one of the new machines is operational, staff will begin training on the equipment.

After training is complete, it's expected two security lanes will be staffed each day during busy periods.

The aim is for passengers to clear security in 10 minutes.

As usual passengers are being advised to only carry essential items in hand luggage, with all liquids and gels placed in a clear bag. Food or powders should be packed into hold baggage where possible.
