Problem is govt funding, not capacity
A local dentist says the backlog of people waiting for treatment on the NHS could be drastically reduced overnight.
At present, the government website says there are "no current vacancies available" - and it's claimed this is because the NHS dental practices on the Island are running at full capacity.
However Thanos Karezis, who is a dentist at the Grovemount in Ramsey, says that just isn't the case.
An industry meeting is being held tonight (Wed 18) at Crookall House, to discuss the future of dentistry on the Island.
