Department for Enterprise revisiting rejected applications

Twenty per cent of business support requests refused first time

The Department for Enterprise is revisiting all applications which had been rejected under the Business Support Scheme.

Speaking at a scrutiny session of the Public Accounts Committee this morning, it was announced roughly 20% of applications had been rejected at first.

Of the 3,200 applications made, 230 were originally deemed ineligible for support.

Since the introduction of the scheme, the eligibility criteria have widened to include the likes of self employed people.

Andrew Stewart is the head of policy and strategy at the Department for Enterprise.

Businesses wishing to get in touch with government can do so through covid19.gov.im.
