Tony Brown says sport should sit in a separate department
A former chief minister says the expected recommendation to close the Southern Swimming Pool is proof the Department of Education, Sport and Culture's only focus is education.
A leaked letter sent to pool staff suggested a plan to close the facility permanently will be presented to Tynwald in February, subject to members' approval.
The move's said to be based purely on financial grounds.
Tony Brown, who was also an MHK for Castletown, says the move is proof sport should sit in a separate department:
Warning over flare disposal after amenity site fire
Suspended sentence for 56-year-old in cannabis supply case
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
