DESC says ball is in union's court

NAHT disagrees, as pay dispute continues

A political member of the education department says the ball is in a union's court when it comes to a dispute over pay.

It's after the National Association of Head Teachers revealed 85 per cent of its members are willing to go on strike over the issue.

The union claims government isn't listening to their concerns and has 'no appetite' to resolve the matter.

But Lawrie Hooper says his department tried to settle the disagreement months ago:

Mr Hooper claims the department has been clear throughout negotiations and that it's up to the NAHT to make the next move - the union's national secretary Rob Kelsall disputes this:
