Descendants find diary of crusading journalist

James Brown was jailed over Manx Parliamentary Democracy

Two great, great granddaughters of the man who was jailed over Manx Parliamentary Democracy have been invited to see the House of Keys in action.

Judy Cross and Pam Wilson are the descendants of James Brown.

As a crusading journalist, he was imprisoned in Castle Rushen 150 years ago.

A diary he wrote there has now come to light.

Pam says its content is fascinating.
