DHSC requests additional £11 million

Due to overspend on service provision

The Department of Health and Social Care is asking Tynwald to add over eleven million pounds to its 2016/17 budget.

Minister Kate Beecroft is moving for the court to authorise the Treasury to apply for the sum of £11,100,000 from the General Revenue account.

It would make up for a deficit for the financial year ending March 31 - in 'respect of an excess of expenditure on service provision'.

Manx Radio has asked the DHSC for comment - it says a statement is currently being prepared for public release.
