Associate Director of Primary Care backs Professor Barnes view
It's unlikely any doctor on the island is qualified to prescribe the use of cannabis-based drugs.
That's the view of the Associate Director of Primary Care at the Health Department Dr John Snelling.
It's in response to Professor Mike Barnes who addressed Tynwald members about the topic.
He believes doctors need educating as getting them to prescribe medicinal cannabis in the UK is a problem.
Dr Snelling agrees there is a need for tuition on the island.
