MHK to ask Tynwald to establish select committee
An MHK wants a committee to be set up to consider whether a public inquiry is needed into how the Island's e-gaming and finance sectors are regulated.
Douglas Central member Chris Thomas will seek support for a three-member select committee to be established when Tynwald sits in November.
He's asking for the committee to take evidence about whether an inquiry is needed into the regulatory, enforcement and government frameworks for both industries to ensure they suit the needs of the Island, and if so how that inquiry would take place.
If the committee is given the go ahead, its members would be expected to report back by May next year.
