Dog owners encouraged to keep pets on a lead
Dog owners are encouraged to keep their canines on a lead when walking near coastal cliffs.
It's after a collie dog, who had been missing for a week, was rescued from a 'grassy ledge' at the back of Peel Hill.
The Peel Coastguard Rescue Team received a call for help from Dan's owner who heard him barking from below the coastal footpath.
Using their personal drone, a member of the team was able to locate Dan who appeared fit and well.
After finding a suitable location for a rope rescue, a cliff technician then descended - approximately eight meters above sea level.
The rescue team says not all incidents like this end with the dog being recovered safe and well.

But what about Dan?
According to his owner, he is one 'tired but happy boy'.
