Twenty properties to be handed over
A local authority on the Island is assuming responsibility for 20 public sector properties.
The Department of Infrastructure wil cede control of the managment of homes in Carmane Close and Derby Drive in Peel to the town's commissioners from Monday.
A two-year initiative, it's hoped the agreement will provide more effective housing services and better meet the needs of tenants.
Chairman of Peel Town Commissioners Christine Moughtin says the transfer is a positive step towards local accountability and reducing managment costs.
