Two-day event organised by Victim Support and Domestic Abuse Forum
A campaigner who helped overturn his mother’s murder conviction, after she suffered a ‘lifetime of coercive control’, will be on the Isle of Man today (11 September).
David Challen will be one of the guest speakers at Victim Support’s Domestic Abuse Awareness Conference.
It’s taking place at Keyll Darree in conjunction with the Domestic Abuse Forum.
Lorna Trevethan is the chief executive of Victim Support:
David will be joined by Natalie Collins who developed the 'Own My Life' programme.
Tomorrow (12 September) David will be joined by past clients of Victim Support Isle of Man who will tell their own stories about how the charity has helped them.
It will also be an opportunity for Victim Support to reflect on the past 25 years and the launch of a new five-year strategy.
The event is being supported by Douglas Rotary Club.
