MLC hopes £5 million build doesn't cap resources
£5 million granted for a daycare facility for disabled people in Braddan - but one MLC has concerns it may be just 'bricks and mortar'.
Tynwald unanimously agreed to fund the build yesterday (Tues) - and construction begins soon, but Michael Coleman MLC says more needs to be done in the area.
The new site replaces the existing Eastcliffe Resource Centre on Victoria Road in Douglas, and Greenfield Garden Centre on Glencrutchery Road.
It'll be located on the outer grounds of Noble's Hospital - housing craft workshop facilities, a public café and shop, and staff accommodation.
Mr Coleman asked for assurances from Health and Social Care Minister, Kate Beecroft, that the build won't be an end to funding for resources:
