Manx residents are being urged not to release sky lanterns over the festive period because of the damage they can cause.
The lights can cause fires, injure farm animals and lead to false callouts for the coastguard.
The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading wants the public to think twice before releasing such lanterns over Christmas and New Year.
While the sale of sky lanterns on the Island is banned, OFT chairman Martyn Perkins admits it's difficult to stop online purchases:
