Infrastructure Minister David Cretney says the door remains open to a would-be rival to the Steam Packet Company.
Earlier this month, his department told Ellan Vannin Line it wouldn’t be able to use the Douglas Harbour linkspan as it bids to set up a ro-ro ferry service.
After the issue was raised in the House of Keys this week, Mr Cretney says his department has made ‘sustained efforts’ to adapt to the changing plans of the Ellan Vannin Line.
But he insists it’s always been widely known the user agreement is in place.
