Increase of 7.5% reported
Douglas Coastguard has seen a 7.5% increase in callouts this year, compared to 2017.
To date, crews have been out 84 times.
The coastguard says this year has also seen the Douglas branch train and sign up four new recruits, and wave goodbye to the long-serving lifeboat.
Over the last 12 months, crews have dealt with the likes of search and rescue operations (both human and animal), oil pollution, and providing safety cover.
