End of an era as Christian not nominated
The leader of Douglas Council won't be contesting the upcoming local authority elections.
David Christian, who represented Hills Ward, has not put his name forward for the contest which will be held on 22 July.
It comes after the authority confirmed who's been nominated following the deadline yesterday.
There'll be elections in the new Central, North, and East wards but not in Douglas South where Stephen Crellin, Frank Schuengel, and Claire Wells have been elected without contest.
Manx Radio will be providing full coverage of the local authority elections in due course.
