Willaston residents report men claiming to work for council
It's hoped a public warning about con men in the capital will put a stop to it.
Douglas Borough Council issued the notice earlier, after reports of properties in Willaston being targeted by men claiming to work for the board.
It's understood they asked tenants to let them in to look at their kitchens.
So-called 'doorstep scams' are commonplace in the UK, and can cost elderly residents thousands of pounds.
Chair of the Council's Housing Committee, Claire Wells, is urging residents to be vigilant and look out for vulnerable neighbours.
She also has this advice:
