Woman 'bombarded' with messages
A man’s appeared in court to deny an alleged weeks-long harassment campaign against his ex-girlfriend.
Forty-seven-year-old David Patrick Oliver Gorman of St Catherine’s Close in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
He denies assaulting his former partner on 9 August, before sending her dozens of emails, texts and social media messages between 18 August and 9 September.
A previous hearing heard claims Mr Gorman bombarded the woman with messages after their relationship ended.
The court heard Mr Gorman was due to face trial on 8 October but his advocate told the hearing there’d been delays to computer forensic work.
He asked for the trial date to be vacated while further inquiries are made and experts examine devices and social media accounts.
Mrs Hughes refused to hear a bail application after ruling Mr Gorman’s circumstances hadn’t changed.
She remanded him in custody until 8 October, when a pre-trial review will be held.
