34-year-old admitted two theft charges
A Douglas man's been put on probation after stealing toothbrushes from a shop in Douglas.
Thirty-four-year-old Dean Anthony Whitehead, of Princes Avenue, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he admitted two offences.
The court heard Whitehead had stolen two smart toothbrushes, worth £260, from Boots on 23 November.
Just over a week later, on 2 December, he went back to the shop and stole a Braun shaver worth around £450.
The court heard Whitehead had carried out the thefts with another man and was under the influence of alcohol and drugs during both thefts.
Whitehead's advocate said he'd been offered a place at a drug rehabilitation centre in the UK and wanted to beat his addiction and live a normal life.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes placed him on probation for 24 months and ordered him to pay £355 compensation to Boots and £300 towards prosecution costs.
