David Ashford to stand for re-election in September
A Douglas North MHK has become the fourth candidate to declare their intention to stand in the constituency in the General Election.
David Ashford is also currently the cabinet office minister.
He says housing pressures, strains on health and social care, rising living costs, and growing frustration with public service accessibility have led to his decision to seek another term.
He added: "As someone born and bred on the Island, it has been the honour of my life to serve Douglas North and the wider Isle of Man in the House of Keys and Tynwald. The last five years have brought major challenges for our Island, and the next five years will bring even bigger ones.
"That is why I believe we need representatives who are prepared to be honest about the choices ahead, not simply offer easy slogans or promises that cannot be delivered."
Also standing in Douglas North are John Wannenburgh, Peter Washington and Hugo Yates.
The General Election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
