MHK wants action to lessen impact on local hotels and restaurants
A member of a Tynwald committee looking at the impact of the Douglas promenade refurbishment scheme on local businesses has described the situation as a "developing crisis".
Chris Robertshaw is on the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, which has been taking evidence from hoteliers and restaurant owners affected by the works.
Some reported the scheme has already resulted in a 15-20% drop in trade.
The Douglas East MHK is calling for action to be taken now:
Treasury reviewing measures announced in UK Autumn StatementÂ
Two local authorities submit objections to Ă˜rsted's offshore windfarm proposals
Two thirds of juvenile offences in 2024/25 committed by 18 young people
Government 'must seriously consider' MoD wind farm objection, says MHK
