MHK wants action to lessen impact on local hotels and restaurants
A member of a Tynwald committee looking at the impact of the Douglas promenade refurbishment scheme on local businesses has described the situation as a "developing crisis".
Chris Robertshaw is on the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, which has been taking evidence from hoteliers and restaurant owners affected by the works.
Some reported the scheme has already resulted in a 15-20% drop in trade.
The Douglas East MHK is calling for action to be taken now:
Seven acts promulgated in final Tynwald Day ceremony before election
Sharp rise in data breaches on Island, says Information Commissioner's Office
Footage circulating on social media 'now an active investigation'
Annual Tynwald Day celebrations to get underway
