Claire Christian confirms she'll be standing in September's vote
One of the MHKs for Douglas South has announced her intention to stand in the upcoming House of Keys General Election.
Claire Christian, who's served as health minister since 2024, was first elected in the constituency in a by election in September 2020, before retaining her seat the following year.
Among her priorities for the next administration, she lists maintaining strong public finances, health and housing.
She says: "I am standing because I care deeply about Douglas South and about the future of our Island. I am standing because progress has been made, but there is more to do. I am standing because I believe that practical experience, honesty about the scale of the challenge, and a determination to keep delivering will matter more than ever over the next five years."
The other candidate who's declared for Douglas South so far is Sarah Maltby.
The election takes place on Thursday 24 September. You can find out more HERE.
