Douglas welcomes Red Arrows today

RAF squadron perform over IoM for first time since 2019

The Red Arrows will perform over Douglas Bay this afternoon.

It's the first time the RAF team has come to the Isle of Man since 2019.

The show gets underway at 2.30pm, and has been arranged by Manx Radio with support from the Domestic Events Fund and IFGL.

With much of the squadron's 2020 schedule cancelled due to coronavirus, Red 1 pilot Tom Bould says it's good to be back:

The Department of Infrastructure is urging those coming into the Island's capital to use the car parks around the town.

Chester Street, Parade Street West and The Tongue will be free all day to encourage those heading into Douglas to support local businesses, while the Bottleneck will be free from 12pm to 8pm.

Karl Millar from the DoI hopes this will encourage those visiting from elsewhere in the Island to stay in Douglas longer:

The display has been arranged by Manx Radio with support from the Domestic Events Fund and IFGL.

Live commentary from Red 10 will be broadcast on Manx Radio during the display.
