Dozens of emergency calls on NYE

Variety of problems around Island

Drunken behaviour, assaults and an escaped horse were on the list of incidents police had to deal with on New Year's Eve.

The last night of 2017 was a busy one for emergency services, with more than 50 calls placed with police and paramedics between 11pm and 8am the next morning.

The majority of complaints came from excessively noisy parties and alcohol-related disturbances - but a few others were less than routine.

Officers also had to deal with self harm incidents, a fight involving three men, and a large horse which had managed to get near Bulgham rocks.

The animal was rescued before it could come to harm.
