The Commodore of Peel’s Sailing and Cruising Club says dredging the Western harbour will bring massive economic benefits to the Island.
Yesterday, work to clear the harbour of potentially contaminated silt got underway, with the Department of Infrastructure dumping the material in special ponds it’s prepared at Poortown.
But the work sparked anger amongst residents after a number of spills on roads along the route.
Stuart Blackley Commodore of Peel Sailing and Cruising Club says there are obvious financial reasons for carrying out the work:
DoI to change rent-setting model for public sector housing
Candidates could need to declare interests to stand in 2026 General Election
Customs and Excise office to relocate
