UK man jailed after largest single cannabis seizure in IoM history
Couriers are being warned they face ‘significant’ time behind bars if they get caught bringing drugs to the Isle of Man.
Yesterday (10 November) a 34-year-old Bournemouth man was jailed for 46 months after trying to bring in more than £400,000 worth of cannabis.
Ali Asker Kilic, of St Winifreds Road, had the drug concealed in a hidden hydraulic hide in his Mercedes vehicle when he was stopped at the Sea Terminal in August.
His advocate claimed he was experiencing financial difficulties and was doing the trip to ‘offset the debt’ he’d built up.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed the drugs represent the largest single cannabis seizure on the Isle of Man in history.
