Drugs duo appear in court

Two kilos of cocaine delivered from butchers

Two Douglas men have appeared in court accused of possessing £40,000 of drugs with intent to supply them.

Paul Michael Dale Ford of Willaston Crescent appeared alongside Kyle Brian Molyneux of Castlemona Avenue at Douglas courthouse.

Both are jointly charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply it – Mr Ford denies the charge while Mr Molyneux has yet to enter a plea.

Prosecution advocate James Robinson said a new charge had been laid against Mr Molyneux of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Magistrates were told both were arrested at Mr Ford’s home on 28 February after a police surveillance operation watched them deliver boxes to the house in Willaston.

When officers swooped, they found two kilogrammes of the class B drug as well as small amounts of cocaine in Mr Molyneux’s jacket pockets.

Mr Robinson said Mr Molyneux later tried to intimidate Mr Ford’s family after being released from custody.

Both were remanded in prison, and they’ll appear in court again on 4 April.
