Dunlop splits from Honda

Eight-time T.T. winner Michael Dunlop will not be racing for Honda next year.

Honda Race boss Neil Tuxworth has confirmed the news after Dunlop rejected two or three deals to stay with the Japanese giant.

Michael won four races at T.T. 2013 - the Superbike T.T. victory was with the official Honda team whereas his other three were on his own prepared machines.

There is no news yet on what Michael Dunlop is planning for 2014.

In other developments, Tyco Suzuki has confirmed Australian Josh Brookes has left the team.

Brookes was the fastest newcomer in history at T.T. 2013 when he lapped the Mountain Course at 127.726mph - the previous best was Steve Plater in 2007 at 125.808mph.

There is no official confirmation of who Josh will be riding for next year although he has confirmed he will be racing in the British Superbike Championship and at the major international road races, including the T.T..
