Former Royal Navy officer and interim airport director to stand
An eighth candidate has announced their intention to stand in Glenfaba and Peel in next month's House of Keys General Election.
Geoffrey Pugh is a former Royal Navy officer, and has more recently held leadership roles within Isle of Man Government, including as interim airport director.
He says: "I believe the Isle of Man is already one of the best places in the world to grow up. My ambition is to help make it one of the best places in the world you can choose to build an entire life.
"I’m standing because I believe good decisions come from listening carefully, weighing the evidence and using sound judgement - not from following any ideology."
Also standing in Glenfaba and Peel are Katryna Baptist, Trevor Cowin, Colleen Dale-Beeton, Daniel Davison, James Hampton, Ray Harmer and Alex Perriam.
The election takes place on 24 September.
